چکیده
The refractory nature of Pseudomonas infections to chemotherapy reflects its ability to rapidly acquire resistance and adapt to hostile environment. In order to keep eye on changing trends in susceptibility patterns of Pseudomonas sp. and to modify therapeutic choices, a retrospective study was carried out. Samples for culture and sensitivity testing were screened for presence of Pseudomonas sp. Resistance/susceptibility of isolates was tested against 12 drugs. A total of 256 isolates of Pseudomonas sp. were studied which were 3.4% of total clinical samples. In this study, milk (16.6%), ear (14%) and respiratory samples (10.9%) were the most important sources of Pseudomonas isolates. The resistance to cefepime, ceftazidime, aminoglycosides and fluoroquinolones has been significantly increased over the past years while resistance rates were consistent for some drugs like tazocin (13%). The recent susceptibility trends needs to be addressed periodically to help choice of most appropriate antibiotics for Pseudomonas infections.

متن کاملEXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF DRAG REDUCTION ON AHMED MODEL USING A COMBINATION OF ACTIVE FLOW CONTROL METHODS
Aerodynamic drag is an important factor in vehicles fuel consumption. Pressure drag which is the main component of total drag is a result of boundary layer separation from vehicle surface. Flow control methods are applied to avoid or at least delay separation. Depending upon whether these methods consume energy to control the flow or not, they are called active or passive control methods. In th...
متن کاملCirculating miR-92a, miR-143 and miR-342 in Plasma are Novel Potential Biomarkers for Acute Myeloid Leukemia
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs that function as post-transcriptional gene expression regulators. The expression profiling of miRNAs has already entered into cancer clinics as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers to assess tumor initiation, progression and response to treatment in cancer patients. Recent Studies opened the way for the use of circulating miRNAs as non-invasive diagn...
متن کاملCase Study in Refractory Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma: Successful Treatment with Plerixafor
The present case study describes our experience in treating a young woman diagnosed with a relapsing case of diffuse large cell lymphoma, who was heavily pre-treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Our only chance to improve her survival was by using high-dose chemotherapy, followed by peripheral stem cell rescue. Unfortunately, in this patient, collecting sufficient stem cells for bone mar...
